[R-TN] | TN | R | F000439 | 2 | Smithsonian Institution Personnel Flexibility Act of 2002 - (Sec. 3) Authorizes the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution (SI) to make voluntary separation incentives to certain SI employees.(Sec. 4) Requires such payments to be in accordance with a plan developed by SI in consultation with the Office of Management and the Budget.(Sec. 5) Sets forth the effect of such payments on an individual's subsequent employment with the Federal Government.(Sec. 6) Amends specified Federal law to authorize the SI Board of Regents to provide for additional space and resources for national collections held at the SI support facility in Suitland, Maryland.(Sec. 7) Authorizes the SI Board of Regents to provide for certain improvements to the Patent Office Building.(Sec. 8) Expresses the sense of the Congress that: (1) SI has played a vital role in the preservation of American culture, including art and music; (2) SI's National Museum of American History should be commended for establishing a Jazz Appreciation Month; and (3) musicians, schools, colleges, libraries, concert halls, museums, radio and television stations, and other organizations should develop programs to explore, perpetuate, and honor jazz as a national and world treasure. | 2025-04-07T13:39:11Z |
